QR code generator for coasters

Create a free QR code for your menu, website, Wi-Fi or reviews. Preview it on a round or square coaster, download a print-ready file and add it to your design.

What should the code open?
Code colour

Dark codes on a light background scan best. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on many phones, so we only offer dark colours.

Shown at true proportions: 30 mm code on a 93 mm coaster

SVG is a vector file and stays sharp at any size, so it is the best choice for print. The PNG is 2,000 × 2,000 px.

Put it on your coasters

Add the code to your artwork, then upload it in Hey Coasters Studio. You will see it on a round or square coaster before you order.

Six rules for a QR code that scans first time

Size

Print the code at least 25 mm wide on a 93 mm coaster. 30 mm is the sweet spot: easy to scan from a seat and still room for your logo.

Quiet zone

Keep a clear margin around the code, about four squares wide. Do not place it over a pattern or a photo.

Safe area

Keep the code at least 4 mm inside the cut line, like your text and logo. On a round coaster, keep it well inside the circle.

Contrast

Dark code on a light background. Avoid light colours, gradients and low contrast pairs.

Say what it does

Add a short line next to it, such as "Scan for the menu" or "Free Wi-Fi". People scan more when they know why.

Test before you order

Scan the downloaded file with two different phones. Once the coasters are printed, the link cannot change, so use a page you control.

Private and free. Your code is created in your browser. We do not store the link, the Wi-Fi password or the file, and the code never expires because it is not routed through a tracking service.
